Corrientes
and Ibera Marshes
 Important
water resources consisting of an extensive system of marshes, lagoons
and a large river network, whose waters come from the abundant rains
of the region. There are 31 marshes in the province which cover a
surface of 14,900 km2 and that even reaches 20,000 km2 in the period
of abundant rains (March, April and September). The biggest concentration

Ibera
means "water that shines" in Guaraní. It has 7 lagoons and 43 smaller
courses of water. With over one million hectares of marshes, this
is the second largest marshland of South America. At present, this
reserve is one of the most attractive places for adventure tourism
such as photographic safaris, wildlife watching, horse-riding, canoe
tours and trekking tours.

of the most important tourist centers of the province are located
on the banks of the Paraná River: Paraná, capital of the province;
Diamante, Victoria and Gualeguay. On the Uruguay river, the coast

Concordia,
the most important town of this coast has numerous beaches, campsites
and sporting clubs. Between this city and Colón is the El Palmar National
Park. Its 8,500 hectares protect the last habitat of the once abundant
Yatay forest. The Yatay is an endangered palm tree due to the action
