Puerto Madryn is the gateway to the naturalist paradises of Peninsula Valdes and Punta Tombo, reserves with spectacular marine and bird life. In addition Puerto Madryn is also the landing place in the 19th century for Welsh settlers who continued inland to found Trevelin, Trelew and many other distinctive villages in the Chubut province.There are now about 25,000 Welsh speakers in the province. |
