If it Flies it Dies

“If it flies, it dies”, this was my motto after my first day of dove hunting. I went out for my first dove hunt this year on opening day and being the only girl, I quickly had to learn how to hold my own. The weekend started out with a bang and ended with a […]

Product Review – Ripcord Code Red

I upgraded to the Ripcord Code Red after using a whisker biscuit and a few other fall-aways. I was tired of my vanes being tore up. So I thought I’d give this a try. I was skeptical at first because it doesn’t stay up after letting down slowly. After getting it served in and set […]

Product Review – Butler Deer Feeder

I set this feeder up over the weekend. I am hoping to make it one of my main feeders, as I put in one of my “honey holes”. I maintain this area and keep the feeders full. We also brush hogged and cleared away brush; so hopefully, we can get some good pictures on the […]

Just Call Me MacGyver

My husband thought I just liked to fish, but on a recent backpack trip, he learned just how much I actually love fishing and to what extent I will go to keep on fishing when challenges arise. Ken and I took our pack goats on a 9 day trip into the St. Joe River wilderness […]

Trout Wrestler?

Ever have one of those fishing encounters where you land a monster and no one is around to see or help? I had been stream fishing a spot by a small waterfall a few times in a row with no major catches for a few trips. This particular trip proved to be quite successful and […]

The Lumenok consists of the nock, battery pack and two plastic sleeves that encase the battery and put pressure on the shaft to hold the assembly in place. The flat of the nock that contacts the back of the shaft contains two metallic loops that are used to complete the electrical circuit and turn on […]

Product Review – Shower & Hunt

I have used this product on myself two days in a row. I have not field tested it, as hunting season is not here. – I used this as a shampoo and body wash. While washing, I smelled an earthy scent, which had me concerned, but the scent dissipated after the shower. By the time I was dry, there was no scent left. I have long hair and when I pulled it around to smell it, there was no fragrance/odor/aroma at all. My hair holds in scents really well due to the length and thickness, so the fact that it covered the smell of my regular shampoo, conditioner, and hairspray, meant that it really did work. This product truly takes odor away and keeps it away all day and night. One of the best antibacterial soaps/washes I’ve ever tried, and trust me, I’ve tried a lot. – This product is very cost effective and it works! Scent control is probably the most important and overlooked aspect of hunting, especially bow hunting. I have been very pleased with this product and its results. I like using Shower & Hunt because you can never go too far in scent prevention. If you want to see more deer, do the little things like showering with Shower & Hunt…and cover every inch of your body, especially your head! Pros: ●Performs well ●Quality ●Value for money ●Made in the USA I only wished that this product contained some sort of moisturizer. I usually like to have use hygiene items that do. However, I understand that adding any moisturizers to Shower & Hunt would have altered its intended purpose, as bacteria thrives in a moist environment which then causes odor. So to prolong the effectiveness of scent elimination, the moisturizer was left out. Product contains no sunscreen. Again, not always necessary while hunting, but remember this in case you are hunting in direct sunlight.

Product Review – Teton Sports Summit1500 Ultralight Pack

I came across TETON Sports while trying to find some affordable, but still high quality outdoors gear. They have a fantastic website www.TETONSports.com, its simple, clean and to the point. I wouldn’t consider myself an extreme hiker, but I do like to go on short day hikes and be able to carry some basic essentials comfortably […]
